This evening of music is sure to delight with “shimmering soprano” (The New York Times) Kristen Plumley and audience-favorite TubaChristmas. The program will include “Sheep May Safely Graze” arranged by Philip Sparke, “Emmanuel Variants” by Robert E. Foster, and the traditional holiday favorites performed by tuba and euphonium players from across the area.

Trumpet soloist Rodney Marsalis joins the NJWS for a program that will include Harry James’ Trumpet Concerto, the Carnival of Venice (originally arranged for his cousin, Wynton), as well as works by James Reese Europe, a famous African American Band Leader during the World War I, and Francis Johnson, a prolific composer and orchestra leader from the post-Revolutionary War era.

The New Jersey Wind Symphony brings their season to a close with a concert featuring outstanding young musicians participating in the 14th Annual Side by Side program and the winner of the 18th NJWS Youth Soloist Competition. The program will include “El Camino Real” by Alfred Reed and “UnBroken” by Randall Standridge.
