NJWS Side By Side Concert

The NJWS 2026 Side By Side Concert offers students the opportunity to perform with NJWS band members on the April 17, 2026 NJWS subscription concert.

ELIGIBILITY

The New Jersey Wind Symphony is excited to host the 2026 Side-By-Side Concert featuring selected band students from area high schools in Northern New Jersey and surrounding New York area. We are looking for students to take part who are highly motivated, skilled, and dedicated. Band students grades 9-12 who are nominated by their teachers are eligible.

THE CONCERT

The Side By Side concert will take place on April 17, 2026, at West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 South Monroe, Ridgewood, NJ.

NOMINATIONS

Band Directors and Private Teachers are invited to recommend three students that are deserving of this opportunity. If you are a member of the NJWS, you may nominate up to five students. In addition to being musically talented, students are expected to practice on their own and be able to attend scheduled rehearsals.

STUDENT MEMBERS

All Side-By-Side students will rehearse four Monday evenings.

• March 16, 2026 – 5:00pm – 6:45pm at Midland Park High School
• March 23, April 6, and April 13, 2026 – 6:00pm – 7:25pm rehearsal at Midland Park High School, Midland Park, NJ
• Dress Rehearsal April 16, 2026 – 6:30pm – 7:45pm at West Side Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, NJ
• Concert April 17, 2026 – 7:00pm call time at West Side Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, NJ. The prelude concert is at 7:30pm and the NJWS concert starts at 8:00 pm.

There will be a participation fee of $40 due at the first rehearsal for all students who are selected to perform. Payment can be made via CASH or CHECK made out to New Jersey Wind Symphony.

This year we are excited to be joined by composer/conductor Carol Brittin Chambers.
