Event Participants

The New Jersey Wind Symphony

The New Jersey Wind Symphony is one of the premiere wind ensemble in the United States, presenting world class soloists and repertoire. Nationally and internationally known, the NJWS presents a 5 concert season annually in Ridgewood, NJ.

Zambelli Fireworks

Zambelli Fireworks is one of the largest fireworks companies in the world with a history dating back to 1893 and puts on 1600 plus fireworks shows a year. The show will be a blast.

9th New York Field Artillery Regiment

The VCASNY serves as a ceremonial unit, and during the course of its drill year, is invited to participate in numerous New York City and New Jersey parades, civic and patriotic events. They will be accompanying the New Jersey Wind Symphony in the finale of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture featuring the firing of cannons.

Featured Guest Artists

Kristen Plumley – Soprano

Described as possessing a “shimmering soprano” (The New York Times) with “sparkle and precision” (The Washington Post), Connecticut native Kristen Plumley has performed with many opera companies throughout the country. On the concert stage Kristen has performed a broad spectrum of works, from classical pieces (Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Haydn’s Mass in Time of War at Carnegie Hall, Handel’s Messiah and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony) to An Evening of Gilbert and Sullivan. Kristen will be singing a wide variety of pop and show tunes at this performance.

Leslie Mendelson – Singer/Songwriter

With her enchanted voice and evocative songwriting, Leslie Mendelson has won the hearts and minds of both an adoring fanbase and fellow artists alike. A Grammy Award-nominated artist, Mendelson returns this summer with her fourth studio album, After The Party. For this latest effort, she collaborates with not one, but three producers: the legendary Peter Asher (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt), the young, in-demand Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham, Sara Bareilles, Sara Watkins) and her longtime songwriting partner, three-time Grammy Award-winner, Steve McEwan.

Jake Thistle

Based in New Jersey, singer/songwriter Jake Thistle has been entertaining audiences for years.

Jake, now 19, has been hired to perform in Europe and across the US, and for crowds of thousands at major music events. His first studio single, Ghosted Road, garnered the Best Americana Song of 2022 Award from Indie Boulevard Magazine, and the Hollywood Sentinel had this to say about Thistle’s follow-up single, The Dreamer: “JAKE has it all. The looks, the voice, the talent, and even a great song here…be prepared to be blown away.”
