Youth Soloist Competition

About The NJWS Youth Soloist Competition

The New Jersey Wind Symphony is committed to assisting in the musical education of young people and to that end providing students significant opportunities to hear, experience, and participate in live performances.

Since 2006, the Band has hosted a major wind soloist competition for high school students. The competition opens in November each year, inviting students to send applications by late February. Finalists are selected and invited to live auditions in March. Scholarship prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The 1st place winner will be featured on the New Jersey Wind Symphony May concert where all scholarship awards will be presented.

This highly acclaimed competition engages students, band directors, private teachers, and the entire band membership to promote and celebrate wind education and quality performances

Donations to the scholarship award and assistance with the underwriting of this event are welcome and greatly appreciated. If you are interested in contributing, please contact the New Jersey Wind Symphony either by phone (201 403-9030) or by email at info@njwindsymphony.org.
